Pete's Walks - Bullfinch

MALE - Near Markyate, Herts., 30/12/08

Not the best of photos of this very colourful bird, but it will do until I get a better one (the photo was taken hand-held at full zoom, from about 30 yards away). I seem to see them quite often in the winter months, presumably because they are then easier to spot when the hedgerows are bare. Rather surprisingly, it is their white rump that usually identifies them at a distance, rather than the bright pink chest.
