I make no claims to be a photographer - I know next to nothing about exposure settings, f-stops, etc. I just have two 'custom' settings set up on my camera (that other people have helped me with over the years), one for landscapes and one for wildlife. I (usually) select the appropriate one, then point, zoom in as necessary, and shoot.
I have used a series of 'bridge' cameras over the years (Panasonic FZ-18, Canon S50, Panasonic FZ-330). Since early 2020 I've been using a Panasonic FZ-1000, which I'm extremely happy with. I don't want to get a DSLR as they would be too heavy to carry on my walks and I would have to spend a lot of time switching lenses.
Many of the Butterfly and Wildflower photos were taken while I was out walking. The Bird photos have generally been taken when I've been somewhere bird watching, or else in my parent's garden.
