I then continued across the common to join a drive by some cottages, which I followed to a minor road. Across the road, a footpath started immediately to the left of a track, running through a small wood. The path seems to have been redirected here, it joins the track further on than it used to, opposite a metal kissing-gate where a footpath went right. I didn't go that way, but took another footpath a yard or two to the left of the gate, which ran just inside an edge of the the wood, next to a hay meadow on my right. I soon came to a kissing-gate in a corner of the wood, beyond which the path crossed part of the hay meadow to the corner of a hedge, continuing straight on alongside the hedge on my right.

A little way along the hedge I turned right, along a path that ran between hedges and fences. There was a seat along here (in memory of a local farmer) where I stopped to eat my packed lunch (a bit early for me, as it was only about 12:30 but I couldn't think where else I could stop). It occurred to me that at this point I was only about half a mile from Parmoor, where I'd been on my previous walk three days ago. Further on the path ran between garden fences just before it reached a lane in Frieth.

A footpath started on the other side of the lane, going down a track between gardens and then continuing to the left of what had been a meadow in 2017 but which has since had some trees planted in it. Beyond that the path continued some way between hedges and fences to reach a lane in Little Frieth, where I turned left. Just after the lane turned right, I took a footpath on the right that went down a drive or track between properties. When this came to a junction with a similar drive or track, the path continued straight on between a tall hedge and a garden fence, soon bringing me to Moussells Wood
