Pete's Walks - Chimney Sweeper

This is a day-flying moth, found in verges and other grassy places between June and July. It is so-called because it is initially sooty black, though it changes to a dark brown after a few days. It has a white edge to the wing-tips, as is clearly shown in this photo.
