Pete's Walks - Jersey Tiger

Until recently the only part of the UK where this moth occurred was the Channel Islands (hence the 'Jersey' part of the name). It then started appearing on the south coast, especially Devon, spreading to Kent and South London (where it has been seen every year since 2004). This is in fact the most northerly one yet recorded in Hertfordshire, according to the County Recorder, Colin Plant (for historic reasons, Kensworth is in the Herts and Middlesex 'Vice-county' when it comes to recording wildlife). They fly between July and September.
