At a junction of drives by a white gate, I turned sharply right. Just before reaching an end of Ashridge House, I took a footpath going left. This soon entered another part of the woods, but then soon reached Golden Valley. Here I followed a surfaced track right a short way, then took a track rising up through the woods on the other side of the valley. At one point this turned sharply left, continuing uphill through the woods to reach the road through Little Gaddesden.

Across the road I went a few yards left, then took a bridleway going right. This entered a courtyard, continued a short way behind a wall on the left, and then turned right and then left in a stable yard. It continued down a track, soon with paddocks either side, which after a couple of hundred yards or so turned left, then turned right between a hedge and paddock fences on my left. This then took me through a small bit of woodland to reach the lane or drive through Hudnall Common.

I turned left, and followed the drive to reach a road. I crossed over and continued down another drive (with more of Hudnall Common on my right). Where the drive turned right, I took a footpath going straight on, soon following the right edge of a paddock - I saw some Red Kites in the trees here. The path then continued for several hundred yards alongside a hedgerow on my right (I spotted my first Redwing of this winter here). The path then crossed a meadow to reach Little Gaddesden church.
