Pete's Walks - Ver-Colne Valley Walk

About My Walk

I did this walk in two stages on the Saturday and Monday of the late May Bank Holiday Weekend in 2009. As usual, I did it 'both ways', each day walking so far along the route and then turning round and retracing my footsteps. So all together I walked about 30 miles.

I split the walk at the car park on Drop Lane, between Colney Street and Bricket Wood, the only car park I could see on the map along the route. This meant I walked over nine miles each way on the first day and just 5.5 miles each way the second day. With hindsight, it would have been better to split the route at Park Street, to get two more evenly balanced days.

Click here to see a very rough map of the walk (but only if you have already read my disclaimer and notes regarding maps).

Note: As a sort of 'addendum' to this route, I did a walk from The Lynch (Kensworth) to Redbourn, following the first few miles of the Ver from its 'winterbourne' source.
